Company History
Lea Manufacturing
Company was established in the UK in 1955, by Frank Anderson.
It was initially founded, as a joint venture with American partners,
on the manufacture and supply of polishing compounds and associated
products for metal finishing. By 1973 the company was UK market
leader in polishing compounds.
 |
In 1985 the management
team purchased the company from its American parent, forming
APH Industries Limited, operating in the UK under the name of
The Lea Manufacturing Company.
2000 saw the retirement of two of the original buy-out team and
a new company, Professional Finishing Ltd., formed to control
the expanded Lea Manufacturing Group. |
The Group has
continued to grow both its product range and its geographical
markets. It now sells into Europe, the Far East, Africa, the
Middle East and Australasia and employs specialist technicians
capable of giving up to the minute advice and service in all
its product areas.
Sales are achieved through a technically skilled sales team,
supporting our nationwide and international network of customers,
be they major manufacturers, sub-contract finishers or distributors.
Products are speedily and efficiently supplied around the country
and the world from coordinated activities in our Head Office and Manufacturing facility in Buxton
and our Manufacturing and Distribution Centre in Bilston.
