Grease Based Compositions

LEAROKS

Description
Learoks are fine abrasive compositions with 'no free grease' other than that required to hold the appropriate grain in a suspended state or as an aid to metal removal. Learoks are available in a variety of sizes, the most common being either 200x50x50mm for use on hand spindles and 400x70x40mm or 500x75x40mm for use with automatic applicators. Bar weight varies in accordance with the formulation used, but is usually between 750 and 1000gm for 200x50x50mm bars and 1400 and 2500gm for the larger bars.

Uses
The Learok family is divided into groups relating to the function they are designed to perform.

Tripolea: a range of bars for use on non-ferrous metals and plastic. Tripoli abrasive grain is produced from a special type of naturally occurring silica which is particularly suited to the polishing and finishing of softer materials.  The Tripolea ranges encompass a wide variety of bars each designed to give optimum performance under specific conditions.

Ferrobrite: this range is designed for heavy cutting operations, or the production of a brushed or lined finish.  A variety of fused alumina abrasives may be blended to produce specific finishes or to achieve a desired rate of metal removal.

Britelea: a range of bars for 'cut and colour' or high colour on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In the main, the abrasives used are finely graded varieties of calcined alumina. The Britelea range is the largest of the Learok family with properties which can be varied almost infinitely to perform an enormous variety of tasks.

FF: a highly specialised range of ultra fine finishing compounds. Very expensive and specially treated abrasive powders are used with sophisticated binder systems to produce bars which leave an almost perfect mirror finish. These products are unique to Lea and offer exciting opportunities for those looking to upgrade their finishing standards.

Medimax: developed for applications in the Medical, Veterinary and Food industries, Medimax compounds are specifically formulated to eliminate the use of animal tissue based materials.  These purpose designed products simplify Risk Assessments in such critical industries.

Other Brands: Other Brands within our range include Classic, Mastral and Zenith, each developed for particular industries or applications.
